Chrigor Moraes #IsRed

Chrigor Moraes is now officially the second new import signing for the Red Giants ahead of the Malaysian League and international competitions: ACL Two and the ASEAN Club Championship for the 2025/26 season.

Born in Cachoeira do Sul, Brazil, Chrigor began his professional career with Brasil de Pelotas, making two appearances in the Série B in 2018 before progressing further with Red Bull Brasil. He made 12 appearances and scored 4 goals in the 2020 Paulista A2 campaign, while also strengthening their Under-20 squad.

He was later promoted to the Red Bull Bragantino first team, where he scored 2 goals in 9 Série A appearances. In pursuit of more consistent game time, Chrigor had a series of strategic loan spells with clubs such as América Mineiro, Novorizontino, Ituano, and Inter de Limeira, the experiences that helped mature his playing style.

Chrigor's standout season in Brazil came in 2023, when he joined Portuguesa and recorded 7 goals in 12 matches in the Copa Paulista. That performance opened the door for his first overseas move.

He signed with Buriram United F.C. in mid-2024 and made a strong impression in the Thai League, scoring 7 goals in 14 matches, including appearances in the AFC Champions League Elite and the ASEAN Shopee Cup 2024.

Chrigor’s form continued to rise following a loan move to PT Prachuap F.C., where he scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists in just 13 league matches. This made him one of the top scorers in Thai League 1 that season, with an average of nearly a goal per match and a perfect penalty record.

At 25, Chrigor is eager to adapt quickly to the team and did some homework beforehand, “Honestly, I’m very excited to start this new chapter. Playing abroad always comes with big challenges, but I arrived with an open heart and a strong will to adapt as quickly as possible. From my time in Thailand, I’ve learned that this mindset helps me settle into the team culture faster. On top of that, I did take the time to get to know the club by watching the matches, following the team on social media, and trying to understand the playing style. I know I still have a lot to learn, especially when it comes to the language, but I’m fully committed to what’s ahead. I will work hard to score goals and help the team reach its targets this season.”

The new import striker is determined to give his all for the fans, “Beyond that, I’ve seen how passionate the supporters are, it’s truly inspiring. I really appreciate the encouraging messages they’ve sent me on Instagram, and I can’t wait to get on the pitch and play for them. I’m proud to be a part of Selangor FC.”

According to Selangor FC Head Coach Katsuhito Kinoshi, Chrigor has shown a clear desire to join the club and is expected to strengthen the attacking line this season, “Chrigor has valuable experience in Southeast Asia and brings great energy. Before signing, he spoke with us and clearly expressed his intention to be part of Selangor FC.”

“At just 25, he still has room to grow, and I see real potential in him. He will play an important role in our attacking setup and is expected to contribute goals and assists. Other than that, his drive to improve makes him a valuable asset to the team.”

Selangor FC warmly welcomes Chrigor Moraes. We hope that he will strengthen the Red Giants' attacking force for the 2025/26 Malaysian League and international campaigns in ACL Two and the ASEAN Club Championship. #MoraesIsRed
