Selangor U20 has qualified for the second round of the 2024 Piala Presiden after finishing top of Group B with 17 points (five wins and two draws) from seven matches in the first round.

The Red Giants under-20 squad has been drawn in Group B together with Negeri Sembilan FC, Kedah Darul Aman FC, Kelantan Darul Naim FC, Sri Pahang FC, PDRM FC, Kuching City FC and Penang FC III.

This season, the group stage of the competition uses a two-round league format and will conclude in August before the start of the Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2024. The top four teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. The Semi-Finals and Finals stage will be held over two legs and will take place in September and October.

As for now, the Selangor U20 squad has managed to score 13 goals. Izzat Syahir and Zamirul Hakim are both leading the team's goalscoring charts so far with three goals each. Meanwhile, Syahir Sukri, Dainei Mat Disa, Alif Aiman, Niammulhasan Alias, Mulia Hairi, Nabil Qayyum and Fakri Azri have all scored one goal each.

Out of those 13 goals, the Red Giants U20 squad lead the group with a goal difference of eight goals and a further three points from the team in second place. In addition, five players namely Izzat Syahir (vs. PDRM FC), Dainei Mat Disa (vs. PENANG FC II), Alif Aiman (vs. KDN FC), Zamirul Hakim (vs. KUCHING CITY FC) and Alif Farhan (vs. KDA FC C) was named the best player of the match.
